Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a land of great contradiction. It is at once one of the most visited countries due to the Hajj, but also one of the most enigmatic nations for non-Muslims. The country only started issuing tourist visas in 2013, but it was not until 2019 that the government made tourism accessible with the rollout of the e-visa. Saudi Arabia is deeply rooted in traditions and Islam, but no other country has experienced as dramatic a transformation in such a short time. The country’s rapid liberalization made this an interesting time to visit the kingdom. Would it transform into the modernity of Dubai or retain its traditional soul, like Oman?
